The story

Phoenix trailed by 11 and still found a way to win 94-91 at Portland. The Fire dominated early, building a 50-43 halftime lead behind a 12-0 run in the 1st quarter. But the Mercury chipped away. After 3 quarters, Portland led 69-68. In the 3rd, Phoenix went on an 8-0 run to keep it close. The 4th quarter became a shootout: Mercury 26, Fire 22. Shay Ciezki led Phoenix with 22 points on 9 free throws. Emily Engstler paced Portland with 21. Alyssa Thomas added 18 and 8 rebounds for the Mercury. The Fire stay 5th in the West at 17-27. The Mercury are 7th at 16-27.
