The story
The Storm came to play early, trading baskets with Golden State through the 1st quarter. Then the Valkyries took over. A 9-0 run followed by an 11-0 run in the 2nd quarter turned a close game into a rout. Golden State led 49-25 at halftime. Seattle showed some fight in the 3rd quarter with a 9-0 run of their own, but Golden State's 8-0 run earlier in that frame had already put the game away. The Valkyries held on down the stretch to win 70-57. Johnson led Seattle with 17 points, but it was not enough against a Golden State team that controlled the middle quarters.
2Charles was everywhere for Golden State. She finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds, controlling the glass when it mattered most. Her presence in the paint anchored the Valkyries' dominant performance.
