The story
New York started strong, winning the 1st quarter 24-23. Atlanta answered in the 2nd, taking a 41-38 lead into halftime. The Dream pulled away in the 3rd quarter with 32 points to New York's 24, stretching their lead to 73-62. The Liberty mounted a brief run, an 8-0 surge in that same quarter, but it wasn't enough. The 4th quarter stayed even at 22-22 apiece, and Atlanta held on to win 95-84. Breanna Stewart led New York with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Jordin Canada led Atlanta with 19 points and 9 assists, running the Dream's offense in a game where Atlanta trailed by as many as 6 and still found the way through.
